Lakshmi M R is a first generation Bangalorean, now in her early sixties. In her youth, she served as a Sergeant for four years with the NCC while studying Logic, Philosophy, and Economics for her B.A degree. She voluntarily retired from BSNL in 2014, after nearly 35 years of service, and decided to spend time reading Kannada books, solving crosswords, and traveling extensively in India as well as abroad with her husband or her friends for company. She is confidently under-confident of her singing abilities and enjoys cooking traditional south-Indian vegetarian cuisine.
