Samad Kottur, based in Hospet, is a naturalist, freelance writer, wildlife activist, photographer and honorary president of North Karnataka Birders’ Network (NKBN). He has been associated with the Karnataka Forest Department in conserving wild habitats and in community mobilisation for conservation. He has authored ‘Birds of Hampi’, a well-compiled pocket guide.
