As a child, Prashanth developed a fascination for wetlands, one that mostly came from weekend visits with his dad to waterbodies around Bangalore. Sunday outings with the informal club, the Birdwatchers Field Club of Bangalore, provided a learning experience to an otherwise soothing hobby. He is currently working with an environment and ecological research organization ATREE (www.atree.org), and has been a part of various activities; mapping, outreach activities, wetland bird surveys, rodent feeding owls in farmlands surveys etc.
