AJT Johnsingh
Dr. AJT Johnsingh started his career as a lecturer of zoology. After completing his post-doctoral research at the Smithsonian, he worked with the Bombay Natural History Society for an elephant project till 1985. He joined the Wildlife Institute of India during its inception in 1985 and served till his retirement during 2005. Dr. Johnsingh’s doctoral thesis covering the ecological study of dholes and large mammalian prey-predators of Bandipur was published during 1983, and continues to remain one of the most important citation materials for related studies. He has published over 200 articles and reports in scientific journals, popular magazines and book chapters. He has also authored popular books on wildlife, Mammals of South Asia – Vol I & II are among them.
