Rohan Chakravarty, cartoonist, illustrator and creator of the series Green Humour, is conducting an exhibition of wildlife caricatures at the Indian Cartoon Gallery, Bangalore, starting this weekend. The series depicts wild animal species from India in a fresh, new plumage. Several artwork also include species endemic to South-Indian regions such as the Nilgiris and the Western Ghats. The caricatures are fun, delightful illustrations of wild animals in all their vivid colours, liveliness and glory and are Rohan’s attempt at creating a bank of such illustrations for use in publication and conservation-related media. There are a total of 72 pieces on display, including birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
The caricatures are a part of a widely read series of cartoons and illustrations, Green Humour, which appears in wildlife publications, journals and newspapers, and is distributed internationally by the Universal Press Syndicate’s ‘Gocomics’.
