‘Skinks of India’ is the first book in India featuring all the described and known skink fauna of the country.

Its one-of-a-kind content has well-explained taxonomic characters with diagrams, detailed descriptions, photographs of different colour morphs, and measurements of all the recognised skink species of India. The book also features maps, as well as references to most of the known scientific works related to Indian skinks.

Put together by scientists from the Zoological Survey of India – K. Deuti, S. Raha, S. Debnath, P. Bag, K. Chandra, and Indian Institute of Science – N. S. Achyuthan, this book is a window into one of the least-known and least-explained animals of India’s biodiversity.

The book can be purchased from ZSI, Kolkata.
