It is indeed heartening to note that JLR Explore has completed eight years of meaningful and creative existence. I would like to compliment and congratulate the founding team members, Vijay Mohan Raj, Karthikeyan S, Radha Rangarajan and Raji Sunderkrishnan, who have consistently been working hard to ensure that JLR Explore serves its purpose, by bringing out interesting stories related to nature and conservation.

JLR Explore is one of the first of its kind where the articles are sourced from avid naturalists, conservationists, scientists, travel writers, as well the guests of Jungle Lodges and Resorts (JLR). Jungle Lodges is extremely proud to own JLR Explore; we hope to take it up to a higher level so as to reach out to many more people.

JLR Explore, in its current version, has 11 major sections. All these sections are beautifully designed and presented, and cover an array of articles on natural history, conservation, travel, interviews of people who make a difference, and interesting images and videos. We hope that the stories have been really inspiring and educative for the reader. Over the last eight years, this content has become a one-stop-shop for anyone looking to learn more about Karnataka, its wilderness, and the people involved.

In the last couple of years, many new contributors have reached out to JLR Explore with their stories and experiences, reinforcing that people are excited to engage with the natural world, and are astounded by the wealth of learning on offer. The website has been enriched by the articles written by these new voices, comprising enthusiasts of all ages.

As the Managing Director of JLR, my focus will be two pronged:

(1) Present the articles published in JLR Explore over the last eight years, in other formats, and share with our guests and perhaps students too.

(2) To ensure that the current team is supported and strengthened, to build a system to ensure the continuity of JLR Explore for a long time to come.

Wishing you all a very Happy Dasara and a world free of Covid. God bless you all.
