The Karnataka Forest Department, in association with Karnataka Eco-tourism Development Board, Jungle Lodges & Resorts, and the Tourism Department, has organised the Karnataka Hornbill Festival at Dandeli, from 02 to 04 February, 2018.

Home to the Kali Tiger Reserve, the Dandeli region of Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district is the heart of the habitat of hornbills. The area is also one of Karnataka’s finest birding destinations, and February is one of the best months to sight both resident birds as well as winter migrants.

A mélange of activities built around the theme of hornbills is planned to mark the occasion, including bird walks, workshops, talks by experts, cultural events, photography, and painting competitions.

The main venue of the Bird Festival is the Dandeli Forest Rest House, Dandeli.
